WHITE WEDDING BOUQUET

With the beginning of a new year I decided it was time to enter the wonderful world of blogging! The world of wedding flowers however had to wait until my daughter and I returned from our three week around the world trip as part of a music tour. She played the music,I just tagged along for the sightseeing! While she played the concerts I checked out the wonderful colour inspirations in Seville, Spain and the fantastic flowers of Tallinn, Estonia, not to mention the sub zero temperatures of New York. We stepped straight off the plane back to 35 degree heat and back into the first wedding of the year.

Shelly Ann and Todd were the lucky couple who tied the knot on the 31st of January 2009, just one week after we arrived back home. Preparation for the wedding was quite hectic as still struggling with slight jet lag. The feature of the bouquet was centered around the incorporation of peacock feathers which were the chosen theme for the day. The bridesmaid bouquets contained a collar of brown magnolia foliage, with white roses,a hint of dyed blue singapore orchids and a scattering of small 'gold' leaves to add a touch of colour. The ceremony took place at the Kenmore Baptist Church, continuing on to a reception at Victoria park golf club. After the ceremony I then transported the large church arrangements of lilies and singapore orchids to the ballroom of Vic Park.

While at the golf club I ran into Jacki and her mother Marg whose wedding I was scheduled to design in March. This was a wonderful opportunity for her as she was able to view the arrangements and set up before her wedding. After much stress (transporting of many stems of open lilies!!) and anticipation the wedding came together and was a huge success. I'd like to say a huge thanks to my husband and family who somehow managed to keep me from collapsing from jet lag during this time!
